Suffolk High School Coaching Legends
Cliff Clark

Cliff Clark coached Bay Shore's teams for 25 years leading the Marauders to eight Suffolk County team titles, more than any other coach. Clark's teams compiled a record of 194-74-5.

During his tenure he coached 57 individual county champions despite the tournament being suspended for six years, 1943-48! No Suffolk coch has ever coached more county champs than Cliff Clark. He coached at least one champion for 16 straight years.

During his 25 years as coach he failed to coach a county champ only three years.

Among Clark's top wrestlers were four-time Suffolk champion Guy Guccione, three-time champs John Kousi, Ed Hubbard, Joe Easley and Jim Pidgeon and two-time champ Jumper Leggio, a three-time Long Island Tournament runner-up.

Clark was inducted into the New York State Wrestling Hall of Fame in 1975.
