College Looking to Three Peat
The
lions will be flying to Des Moines, Iowa this upcoming week, to defend
their back to back NJCAA National Championships. After another
impressive tournament, winning their 8th consecutive Mid Atlantic
District Championship down in Spartansburg, South Carolina last weekend.
They are looking forward to the challenge. Once again the lions
qualified all ten wrestlers for the national tournament. At the
qualifier, Nassau crowned five champions Ricardo Gomez (125lbs), Robert
Troy (149lbs), Lance Wade (165lbs), Jules Doliscar (174lbs), and Anthony
Lupi (184lbs). They also had three runner-ups in Kodie Silvestri
(141lbs), David Khavin (197lbs) and Corey James (285lbs) plus two
thirds, Francisco Perriera (133lbs) and Brian Herold (157lbs). At
the National Tournament, Coach Paul Schmidt in his fifteenth season as
head coach will be inducted into the NJCAA Hall of Fame. |
