Lions Head to South Carolina to Lay it on the Line

The # 1 Ranked Nassau CC wrestling team will be traveling to Spartanburg Methodist College, SC for the Mid Atlantic National Qualifier this weekend. They will be looking to defend their seven consecutive Mid Atlantic Championship titles and make it three in a row as NJCAA National Champions. The lineup consists of many former Long Island standouts- at 125lbs Ricardo Gomez of Brentwood High School last year's NJCAA runner-up and currently ranked 2nd in the polls. At 133lbs Francisco Periera a Huntington High School graduate. At 141lbs Kodie Silvestri hails from NJ and is currently ranked first in the NJCAA is looking to win it as a freshman. At 149lbs Robert Troy from Walt Whitman HS, a former Suffolk County Champion. At 157 Brian Herald ranked 7th in the country and last year's NYS runner-up. At 165lbs Lance Wade a NYS Champion and 2x finalist is currently ranked 8th. Lance is looking to be the third Wade to place at the NJCAA National tournament. His father Tom finished 4th while his brother Chris finished second in 2007. At 174lbs Jules Doliscar a graduate of Holy Trinity High School is currently ranked 10th  and is looking to be an all American. At 197lbs David Khavin a PSAL wrestler currently ranked 11th has had a good season for the Lions. At 285lbs Corey James a former NYS runner-up from Kingston NY is presently ranked 7th.
